Photos of animals and nature - Sony cameras & lenses in action
Renowned photographer Gustav Kiburg puts his passion for capturing wildlife and nature into action with Sony's G Master series telephoto lenses. Nature photography is his greatest passion. He travels all over Europe to find the best places for nature photography. He started out as a hobby photographer with Minolta equipment. His passion grew stronger and today he is a Sony ambassador. He gives lectures and demonstrations on nature photography and how to get the best out of your camera. He also works as a photography consultant.
Gustav about himself and his work with Sony equipment:
I like shooting with Sony's innovative cameras because they help me capture better and great images. In addition to camera reliability, sensor quality is another important point for me. For shots of birds in flight I use the 70-200GM because it is a very fast lens with exceptional sharpness. In combination with the Sony Alpha 9 you can capture the birds in flight perfectly. The 100-400GM i use for all kinds of nature shots from a distance, because the lens is fast and sharp. Together with the 1.4TC this is the perfect combination for me
I use the Alpha 9 and the 70-200mm/100-400mm for this:
I use this combination for all kinds of nature shots and conditions (weather/difficult light conditions) and for shooting birds in flight, such as kingfishers eagles, hawks and also squirrels. With the lenses I benefit from the speed and sharpness I need to capture great images.
How does shooting with Sony help you in your work as a nature photographer?
The autofocus is very fast and reliable. For me as a nature photographer, the accuracy and reliability of the autofocus system provided by Sony is essential.
The dynamic range is something that every photographer should consider. It's a joy for any photographer to work with the rich data that Sony's files offer, especially in low light conditions.
Further experience reports on the combination of the 2 lenses and housings:
The file size, especially with the Sony a7rII is a big advantage. I am not always able to get as close to the animals as I would like. So the ability to crop the images and still be able to use them for prints is a deciding factor. The sharpness and quality of the GM lenses surprised me at first.
These are truly stunning lenses. The impression of looking at pictures taken with a GM lens is indescribable.
