General Concept
The Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF is a 400mm super telephoto lens with catadioptric optics and constant F8 aperture. The Lens offers a compact alternative to standard telephoto lenses as more and more photographers are looking for equipment that is easy to carry. The 400mm F8 Reflex MF was designed with active travel photographers in mind who are looking for landscapes, wild nature or birds. It is a compact and lightweight Lens to be rediscovered in the new era of equally compact but high-tech mirrorless cameras.

The Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF is suitable for travel photography, as the Lens is compact and lightweight, yet helps you capture distant subjects that standard zoom lenses cannot reach. This Lens is best suited for various photographic genres, such as landscape, people, street photography, macro, wild nature, and even sports!

Optical Performance
The long 400mm focal length of the Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF, while being compact and lightweight, is achieved through catadioptric optics.
Mirror lenses are telephoto lenses that contain a combination of 3 lenses that are silvered on the outside of the glass to reflect light back and forth between the ends of the lens. This structure folds the light and bisects the length of the tube. This reduces the physical size of the Lens to one-third the size of a conventional Lens and allows for a lightweight Body, as the mirrors are much lighter than the optical glass.

The Rediscovery of the SLR Lens with Mirrorless Cameras
SLR lenses were once considered unfashionable and impractical because they had a fixed aperture, manual focus and no image stabilization. We propose to rediscover the advantages of SLR lenses by using them with modern mirrorless cameras.

Easy to focus
Focusing aids like Focus Peaking help find the sharpest focus point.

Less camera shake
You can forget about blurry images due to handheld camera shake thanks to the advanced multi-axis image stabilization systems built into mirrorless cameras.

No more slow shutter speeds
The latest mirrorless cameras with advanced wide ISO settings give photographers the ability to choose faster shutter speeds with minimal pixel noise in the image.

Key Features
Compact and lightweight
With a focal length of 400mm and a weight of only 340g (without mount adapter), the Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF is easy to carry in a pocket or small bag. For travel photographers looking for lightweight equipment, this feature is very valuable.

Optics
The lens elements inside the lens are coated with a multi-layer anti-reflective coating for effective light penetration and thus longer shutter speed in low-light conditions.
The mirrored surfaces of the lens elements are coated with a highly reflective silver-plated coating and a protective antioxidant layer on the back to extend the life of the product.

Macro photography
The field of view is 6°8' (at image diagonal) and the minimum focusing distance is 1.15m. With a magnification factor of 1:2.5, a full-frame image of an object measuring 6 x 9 cm can be captured. These features help photographers avoid shadows when shooting close-ups.

Special Bokeh
The optical design of the Lens provides a special, donut-shaped and particularly smooth bokeh that appeals to many fine art photographers.

Easy and Precise Focusing
The Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF is equipped with a wide and easy-to-grip focus ring that provides a continuous 270° rotation range. Precise focusing could not be easier. Thanks to the high-quality workmanship of the metal parts and the assembly process, the focus ring rotates smoothly even in low temperatures, preventing dust from being sucked into the Lens.

Super Compression
Thanks to its long focal length, the Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF can produce images with super compression effect, where the background appears close and magnified compared to the main subject. This effect gives the image an enchanting atmosphere.

Lens hood and filter
The Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF comes with a lens hood and supports 67mm filters. This allows the photographer to use any creative filter to enhance the effect.

Versatile Mount System
The Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF features a T-mount standard (pitch 0.75mm, thread 42mm) that allows this Lens to be attached to any camera using mount adapters.
