The autofocus performance of the Sony 70-200 GM2
Thanks to the 4 XD linear motors (Extreme Dynamic), the glass elements in this Lens are moved quickly and precisely, which is not only an advantage for photography. Videographers will also benefit from the improved focus performance here. This Lens is made for anything that requires speed. It doesn't matter if it's for wildlife or sports photography, or even people photography. The built-in motors and glass elements of the GM2 offer a reduction in focus breathing.

Would you like to get a little closer? If you shoot with the SEL70200GM2 at 70mm, 40cm is the closest you can get for sharp focusing. At 200mm, the lens still offers a closest focusing distance of 82cm.
The bokeh of the SEL 70-200 f/2.8 GM2
This Lens offers a circular bokeh thanks to the 11 built-in aperture blades. As a result, making the subject stand out with the f/2.8 aperture is completely smooth throughout. Along with the bokeh comes the aperture, which can be controlled on this lens via the aperture ring, which also features the familiar automatic aperture control.
Sharpness and contrast even in backlight
The Sony 70-200 GM2 is equipped with an extreme aspherical XA element as well as two other aspherical ED elements. Two Super ED elements help minimize chromatic aberrations. However, all this glass and the AR Coating II not only reduce internal reflections. This design provides very good exposure performance over the entire length of the focal length range. Even in light-sensitive shooting situations, this 70-200mm performs well and efficiently minimizes flare and ghosting.
Lightweight Design + Ergonomics of the Lens
This MK2 of the G-Master series not only offers better sharpness and great bokeh, but also 29% less weight than its predecessor. This brings the total weight of the Lens to just over 1kg.
The construction of the Sony 70-200 GM2 offers dust and moisture resistant protection, which makes this Lens ideally suited for professional use.
