Professional performance in a compact package that offers you new creative possibilities.
The SIGMA I-Series is a range of compact, beautifully designed high-performance Lens for mirrorless camera systems. Part of the first collection is the versatile SIGMA 35mm prime Lens, which expands the Contemporary product line. It combines outstanding resolving power with a small body that is perfectly weighted for mirrorless systems.

The 35mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary is one of the classic standard primes that photographers are reluctant to compromise on. The lens has a maximum aperture of F2 and offers both compactness and high optical performance. Its small size and low weight make it extremely handy and therefore a potential everyday companion. Due to its excellent optical quality, its large aperture and its high-quality manufactured body, which stands for the I-Series, it is equally well suited for professional photography, such as astrophotography, and also for video recordings. This brand new standard Lens is designed for photographers who value the photographic experience itself as much as the quality of the results.

I-Series|Anew photographic experience - "Premium Compact Primes" for mirrorless camera users
The SIGMA I-Series includes full-frame compatible lenses that provide mirrorless system users with new and better alternatives - both in terms of the experience of working with the lens and the impressive image results.

Mirrorless cameras have the advantage that they can be kept small and compact. This new 35mm lens is perfectly matched to these compact systems without compromising on performance. The combination of outstanding optical quality and exceptional portability, previously unavailable in this form with DSLR systems, offers new possibilities for current and future generations of photographers.

We have an enormous variety in the choice of shooting tools these days, as the example of the smartphone shows. SIGMA is therefore aware that people are looking for something more than the act of "taking pictures" when they choose a camera with interchangeable lenses. Since its foundation in 1961, SIGMA's outstanding development and processing technologies have been continuously expanded and further developed with the introduction of SIGMA Global Vision in 2012. SIGMA is constantly thinking about how photographers use and appreciate their lenses - including optical design, advanced functionality, build quality and the experience of shooting and using the lenses. And so the I-Series was born from these careful considerations.

also contributes to the exceptional performance.
These elements correct spherical aberration and field curvature, as well as suppressing reflections and the fluctuation of aberration at the time of focusing. And yet, all in all, the amount of glass used has been kept to a minimum.

The lens design also stands for very good correction of sagittal coma, so that details can be captured so finely that it can also be used for astrophotography. Thanks to state-of-the-art optical design and advanced processing technology, the 35mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary delivers uniform, high resolution across the entire image area.

3.
Exceptional I-Series build quality in a compact form
All I-Series Lens feature an all-metal construction. The precision-cut aluminum parts not only give the barrel a sleek, stylish finish, but also provide excellent durability that enhances the quality of the entire product. Metal materials are also used for the internal construction, which harmonize with the operating rings for added robustness. These high-precision components, manufactured using SIGMA's latest metal processing technology and also used in the cine lens range for professional filmmakers, offer an exquisite feel and barely perceptible operating noise, making photographers want to use them again and again.

The cover ring between the focus and aperture rings is manufactured to fit precisely, as is the case with the manufacture of the rear cylinders of the Art line. This cover provides a good grip when attaching or removing the Lens.
