When using manual focus, you get a linear manual focus curve, which allows you to readjust the manual focus very smoothly and accurately.

This is achieved through Sigma's Super Multi-Layer Coating (SML). The Lens is equipped with five FLD lenses and four aspheres, resulting in almost no chromatic aberrations. Particularly in the wide-angle range, sharpness that extends all the way to the corners of the image is especially important. With IF lenses, the build length of the Lens remains constant during focusing and the front lens does not rotate, allowing you to conveniently use polarizing filters and a tulip-shaped lens hood. Since the overall length of the Lens remains constant during focusing, there is no noticeable weight shift during focusing with this system. As a result, the Lens is well balanced at all times.
