The Kenko TELEPLUS HD DGX 1.4X NIKON AF is an extension for DSLR equipment weighing only 110 grams. This TELEPLUS converter extends the focal length of the combined Lens by a factor of 1.4. This converter ensures that the transfer of the effective values (even with zoom lenses) and the working aperture are written to the EXIF data of the image.

The Kenko Teleplus HD DGX 1.4x can be used with manual and autofocus lenses. The minimum aperture should be at least f4 to achieve ideal results. The TELEPLUS is compatible with TTL (through-the-lens metering) and AE (automatic exposure control). Together with the TELEPLUS 1.4x, the aperture of the Lens is reduced by one stop. This loss of light intensity is automatically corrected to the resulting smaller aperture (e.g. from 2.8 to 4). Photography is possible without making any special settings. However, depending on the subject and other photographic conditions, it may be necessary to make exposure corrections.

The focal length and aperture values recorded by the camera as EXIF data represent the effective values resulting for the overall system when using the TELEPLUS. Example: If a Lens with a focal length of 300 mm is combined with the TELEPLUS converter, the EXIF data of the photos taken with it will indicate 420 mm.

Kenko Teleplus HD DGX teleconverters were developed for digital and analog SLR cameras and increase the focal length of Lens. Kenko Teleplus converters are simply mounted between the camera and Lens and, thanks to the Gate Array IC system, electrically transmit information such as autofocus or aperture control. The EXIF data stored in the image, including conversion of the extension factor, is therefore retained. The use of the Kenko Teleplus HD DGX 2.0 doubles the focal length and increases the maximum magnification due to the unchanged close-up limit.
