  • 4.5 kg tested payload
  • LiDAR focusing*
  • O3 Pro transmission*
  • Dynamic and versatile solution

Nothing is out of reach

The DJI RS 3 Pro takes powerful features from the Ronin series and is a forward-thinking expansion platform for any filmmaker. It also offers coordinated shooting solutions for professional film crews. With the DJI RS 3 Pro, nothing is out of reach.

Professional design

Cinema cameras, no problem

The RS 3 Pro uses extended carbon axis arms to create more space for professional cameras. This makes it perfect for cameras such as the Sony FX6 or Canon C70 with 24 to 70 mm f/2.8 Lens and opens up new creative possibilities.

The new and extended lower quick release plate[1] provides a more stable camera mount and is also suitable for installing a lens mount for a secure hold.

To make balancing easier, a knob has been added for fine-tuning the tilt axis to move the camera forwards or backwards with even more millimeter precision. Components are coated with Teflon® to reduce frictional resistance. This allows the RS 3 Pro to be balanced more evenly, even when heavy cameras are mounted.

Automatic axis locks

With the RS 3 Pro, you can get started quickly so you never miss a shot. With the gimbal switched off, press and hold the power button and the three axes will automatically unlock and extend, allowing you to start shooting in just a few seconds. Press the power button once and the axes will automatically lock and go into sleep mode, making transportation and storage of equipment much more efficient. Press and hold the power button and the gimbal will automatically fold and lock.

High capacity payloads

The improved design of the RS 3 Pro ensures that its weight remains as low as the RS 2 at just 1.5 kg (including gimbal, battery grip and two-layer quick release plates), while its payload capacity is a robust 4.5 kg. This makes it both powerful and lightweight.

Bluetooth record button

With dual-mode Bluetooth technology, the RS 3 Pro is able to efficiently and reliably control recording via radio. [2] After the initial Bluetooth connection, you can control video and photo recordings by simply pressing the record button on the gimbal. Previously connected cameras can be reconnected automatically, which saves a lot of time.

Quick mode change

With the new gimbal mode switch, you can quickly switch between "Follows with pan", "Follows with pan and tilt" and "FPV" modes. FPV mode can also be set to 3D 360° rotation, portrait or individual, so you can get started with your equipment as quickly as possible.

Bigger is better

The integrated 1.8″ OLED full-color touchscreen offers a 28% larger display compared to the RS 2, making settings, checking shooting status and framing incredibly easy. [3] With the redesigned user interface, every setting is more intuitive and precise. The OLED screen is also brighter than the LCD screen of the RS 2, providing better outdoor visibility with lower power consumption.

Professional stabilization

Slim carbon construction

The arms of the RS 3 Pro are made of layered layers of continuous carbon fibers, just like the Ronin 2, making the material lighter and stronger than the bonded carbon fibers used in the RS 2. This increases rigidity and reduces weight to meet the most demanding shooting conditions.

The next evolution of RS stabilization

With its new stabilization algorithm, the RS 3 Pro offers significantly improved stability in every scenario. Laboratory tests show that the RS 3 offers 20% more stability than the RSC 2 and effortlessly masters shots from low angles, while running or switching between high and low positions.

SuperSmooth

With SuperSmooth mode, the RS 3 Pro increases motor torque to further improve stabilization and deliver stable shots even during fast movements or when using 100mm Lens.

Professional focus:

LiDAR support

To simplify focusing, the LiDAR technology of the Ronin 4D is also used in the RS 3 Pro. The new LiDAR rangefinder (RS) can project 43,200 measuring points within 14 meters. [4]
It also has an integrated camera with an equivalent focal length of 30 mm and a wide field of view of 70°, which meets most focusing requirements.
Compared to conventional focus technology, the LiDAR focus system does not rely on the surface texture of the subject. This is particularly useful in low light or complicated scenes with multiple subjects and results in exceptionally stable focusing.
It supports both wide-angle mode and spot mode. In wide-angle mode, the rangefinder automatically detects the subject and follows with the focus. In spot mode, camera operators can manually frame or tap the subject to focus.

Completely new focus motor[10]

The new DJI RS focus motor (2022) offers three times more torque (up to 1 N-m) and reduces noise by 50%. This ensures smoother focusing and improves audio recording. It also has a quick-release fastener that enables simple and fast assembly without tools.

Filmic autofocus

The LiDAR rangefinder and the new focus motor together enable cinematic autofocus even with manual Lens. Press the M button on the gimbal once to quickly switch between manual focus and autofocus and enjoy the benefits of both modes.
After calibrating manual lenses, multiple profiles can be saved in the focus motor so that no recalibration is required the next time they are used. Certain cinema lenses[5] can even be connected directly to the focus motor for autofocus without the need for calibration.
You can also connect the LiDAR rangefinder and focus motor directly to the camera, without a gimbal, to enable autofocus even with manual Lens. [6]

ActiveTrack Pro

Subject tracking with the Ronin series has never been so precise and responsive.
The new ActiveTrack Pro can receive images directly from the camera integrated in the LiDAR rangefinder, without the need for the Ronin video transmitter (formerly known as Ronin RavenEye). The LiDAR rangefinder also contains a chip developed by DJI that is identical to that of the Ronin 4D and increases the processing power of ActiveTrack Pro by more than 60 times compared to ActiveTrack 3.0 and the Ronin video transmitter.
When using ActiveTrack Pro, you can check the subject directly on the OLED touchscreen of the RS 3 Pro or adjust the image section. [7] Live feed latency has been reduced to just 40 ms, 60% lower than the Ronin video transmitter, allowing reliable tracking even when the subject is moving fast. With the Neural Network Accelerator, it can identify and track subjects, even if they are many and far away.

Professional video transmission

Fast mounting

The RS 3 Pro can be connected to the brand new DJI Transmission to provide a customized shooting solution. The DJI video transmitter can be powered directly from the RS 3 Pro and can be conveniently mounted via the accessory shoe on the underside. Since no additional battery is required, hand-held recordings are made easier.

Radio transmission over long distances

O3 Pro enables ultra-long range video and audio transmission up to 6 km away[8] with ultra-low latency and automatic frequency switching between 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz and DFS frequencies. This provides film crews with a transmission solution with impressive stability and interference immunity.

Coordinated recordings

The very bright wireless monitor supports 1080p/60fps live feeds and one transmitter with multiple receivers. In control mode, two receivers can be used simultaneously to control the RS 3 Pro's gimbal, focus and camera parameters together. This provides an integrated solution for reception, monitoring and control.

Professional wireless control

Gimbal and focus control[9]

The very bright wireless monitor can be used with the Ronin 4D handles, DJI Master Wheels or DJI Force Pro to control and precisely focus the gimbal.
It is also equipped with an integrated gyroscope that can turn the wireless monitor into a stand-alone motion control unit for the RS 3 Pro without additional accessories to achieve complex camera movements from a moving vehicle or with a boom.

Seamless radio control

When the RS 3 Pro is mounted on a boom, cable cam or vehicle, the mirrored control mode enables seamless radio control anywhere on set. This mode allows direct control of core functions for Sony mirrorless cameras[5] via a wireless monitor without having to remove the camera.

Professional ecosystem

Extensive expandability

With two RSA/NATO ports and a battery port, the RS 3 Pro can be connected to various accessories such as the Variable Dual Handle, Tethering Control Block and the new DJI Briefcase Handle to flexibly meet a variety of shooting needs.

Solutions for every scene

With the DJI RS SDK, third-party vendors and software developers can now create customized solutions for the RS 3 Pro. Whether you're shooting from a moving vehicle, boom, Steadicam, cable cam, or from a glide bar, the RS 3 Pro offers you comprehensive shooting solutions and more creative possibilities.

Ronin video transmitter[10]

The RS 3 Pro supports two official video transmission solutions. In addition to DJI Transmission, the Ronin Video Transmitter offers HD live feeds, remote gimbal and camera control, ActiveTrack 3.0, Force Mobile and many other features that provide independent cinematographers and small film crews with integrated image control and management.

New briefcase handle[10]

The redesigned briefcase handle is collapsible for convenient storage and comes with a new ergonomic grip to make installation and switching to briefcase mode easier and faster. External monitors can be connected to the built-in accessory shoe and 1/4"-20 threaded hole to support shooting, making low-angle camera movements more intuitive.
