A 32.5-megapixel APS-C format CMOS sensor works with the DIGIC 8 image processor to deliver fantastic image quality - images score high on clarity, tonality and color, while low-light noise is kept to an absolute minimum. ISO sensitivity up to ISO 25,600 enables freehand shooting even in low light. At the same time, the high dynamic range ensures tremendous detail even in particularly bright and dark areas of the image.

The 32.5-megapixel CMOS sensor was developed and manufactured exclusively by Canon and ensures detailed images. The APS-C format is so large that the depth of field can be perfectly controlled. Yet it's so compact that the EOS 90D and its lenses impress with their handiness for flexible use on the go.

Optimized image quality
In-camera image processing allows you to consistently use the full image quality. Our DLO (Digital Lens Optimizer) technology can be activated during shooting - each individual image is then optimized for the performance of the lens in question. The result? Images are crisp, clear, and full of detail - straight from the camera.

RAW files can be converted to JPEG images in-camera with RAW image processing, and the Creative Wizard lets you customize your shots. DIGIC 8 processor lets you make image corrections and create multiple versions of the same image, each with a different look.

The perfect camera for sports and nature photographers, it takes incredibly detailed 32.5-megapixel photos at speeds up to 10 frames per second when using the continuous focus viewfinder. And in Live View mode, even 11 frames per second. Thanks to the APS-C format, telephoto lenses have a longer reach, so you can get even closer to distant subjects to print impressively large images from them later.

Thanks to support for UHS-II SD memory cards, image data is written quickly, enabling continuous shooting sequences of up to 58 JPEGs, 25 RAWs or 39 CRAWs at full resolution.

The EOS 90D's flicker detection controls the frame rate during bracketing to perfectly match the light sources often used in sports arenas, suppressing the effects of flicker.

Thanks to the EOS 90D's advanced AF system, even moving subjects are tracked precisely and kept sharply in focus. Whether you're shooting through the viewfinder or the swivel screen, focus is fast and precise.

Fast, precise focus
45 AF points (all cross-type) are superimposed across the entire optical viewfinder of the EOS 90D for increased sensitivity and precision in both portrait and landscape shooting. You can shoot with Lens/converter combinations up to f/8 in lighting conditions as low as -3 EV.

AF points can be used individually or in groups, and can be quickly and easily relocated using the intuitive AF multi-controller. The iTR AF system uses color and face information to detect and track focus on moving subjects within the frame. You can also adjust the sensitivity and tracking speed of the AF to match the subject you're photographing.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF
When shooting in Live View mode or recording video, Canon's proven Dual Pixel CMOS AF system ensures premium sharpness. It covers most of the sensor area and offers low-light performance down to -5 EV. With up to 100% x 88% coverage of the vertical and horizontal sensor area and 5,481 AF positions, you can easily unleash your creativity in image composition. Thanks to Face and Eye Detection, moving subjects are tracked while being reliably kept in focus.

Focus Bracketing
When it's important to have maximum depth of field throughout the frame - such as in macro photography - focus bracketing can ensure optimal sharpness. With one press of the shutter button, the EOS 90D continuously captures images, automatically shifting the focus distance from the starting position to the background from frame to frame. Canon's Digital Photo Professional software then uses these individual images to generate a combined image where the depth of field extends across the entire frame.
